Ashburnham Primary School: A Case Study in Inclusive Action
We recently partnered with Ashburnham Community Primary School in West London, a mainstream primary that is committed to ensuring all pupils, regardless of ability, can take part in cycling activities.
The school already had a small fleet of specialist and standard cycles, but found that wear-and-tear, growth spurts, and evolving needs meant some children were unintentionally being left out. That’s where we came in.
Our Approach: Review. Recommend. Ride.
Our expert team visited the school to carry out a full Inclusive Fleet Review — a hands-on, practical assessment of their existing fleet. We worked alongside staff to:
- Review the condition and suitability of their current cycles
- Identify gaps in provision for disabled and neurodivergent children
- Recommend cost-effective updates and maintenance
- Ensure their fleet could support all pupils safely and confidently
Following our recommendations, Ashburnham was able to update their fleet and reconfigure how it was used — making it more inclusive and future-proofed.
